CaccHho CucchhA by Mercedes Azpilicueta (b. 1981 in La Plata, Argentina) invites children and adults to explore, play and invent together.
‘Cacho’ is a fragment of time that is immeasurable or leftover. In Argentinian slang, ‘cucha’ means a shelter or safe place. CaccHho CucchhA refers to a time beyond any logics of productivity. Instead, it favours self-directed play as an inventive, emancipatory and community-forming activity. Inspired by elements of nature, animal fables, migration narratives and embodied knowledge, Azpilicueta has created an environment that combines aesthetic experience, a wide range of languages and situations of open play.

Saâdane Afif has devised a performance afternoon for the closing event of the Eleanor Antin retrospective. He has invited artist-comedian Gözde Güngör and musician Ugnė Uma to take part. Their acts revolve around central themes of the exhibition: self-presentation, narrative, humour and questioning one’s own artistic action.
Like Antin, Afif works with a fictitious figure: Yasmine d’O, curator and regular partner in crime in his projects. She encapsulates questions of authorship, social roles and artistic mediation.
Saâdane Afif (b. 1970 in Vendôme, FR) has already featured on various occasions at Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein and is represented with several works in the collection.

Since 2019, the Hilti Art Foundation has been offering museum experiences of a special kind: from yoga to chanting, from Qi Gong to breathing exercises – an experience for body and mind in the midst of great art. 10 minutes to start with a work of art.
To round off the day, we will serve you delicious snacks and healthy refreshments afterwards.
Time: 6 to 7pm (or 8pm)

ORF Long Night of Museums
Short guided tours through the current exhibitions
For the 26th time, the ORF is hosting the «Long Night of Museums». Numerous museums and galleries in Austria and neighboring regions will open their doors from 6pm until midnight. With just one ticket, culture enthusiasts can visit a variety of museums.
At Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein and the Hilti Art Foundation, visitors can enjoy three exhibitions and a special feature from the Kunstmuseum's collection – on their own or with a short guided tour.

This afternoon is dedicated to discussing various aspects of the exhibition "In the kollabor: Mercedes Azpilicueta: CaccHho CucchhA".
Mercedes Azpilicueta’s exhibition CaccHho CucchhA invites children and adults alike to experience play as an inventive, empowering and community-building activity. It reminds us to reclaim unproductive time and space for ourselves and for connecting. 'Cacho' is a fragment of time that is immeasurable or leftover. 'Cucha' is a shelter or safe place.
How do the themes of time, safe space, embodiment, play and disobedience come together? What is special about art created for both children and adults? How does an exhibition that encourages collective play and invention transform the places where it is held?
We will explore these questions through conversation (in English and German) and shared activities.
Participants include: Mercedes Azpilicueta (Artist), Lara Khaldi (Artistic Director of de Appel, Amsterdam), Mona Jas (Artistic Director of the KinderKunstLabor St. Pölten), Chantal Küng (Artist and Lecturer), Monika Schwärzler (Philosopher), Christiane Meyer-Stoll (Director of Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein) and Susanne Kudorfer (Head of Art Education of Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein)

Join the Foundation to celebrate its recent acquisition of Mark Rothko's painting No. 6, Sienna Orange on Wine (1962), on display in the current presentation Abstract. In Focus: Carmen Herrera, Wassily Kandinsky, Mark Rothko. In the lecture “Mark Rothko and the Inner World,” Christopher Rothko will discuss the personal, spiritual, and philosophical dimensions of his father’s work. Mark Rothko is considered one of the most significant artists of the 20th century.

Get away from everyday life and into art: Take Away is a slightly different kind of lunch break in Vaduz. In 30 minutes you will get an insight into a current exhibition and learn some interesting facts about the artists and works. Each of these guided tours is dedicated to a different topic.

Anna Jermolaewa. Radical Hope
A production of Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein, curated by Christiane Meyer-Stoll with Henrik Utermöhle.
Anna Jermolaewa (b. 1970 in Leningrad / Saint Petersburg) trains her keen, empathetic eye on moments of everyday life that are easily overlooked, transforming them into vivid allegories of social and political realities.
Often she works in places that feature in her own biography, above all in countries with a reference to the former Soviet Union, where she lived before fleeing in 1989.
Jermolaewa's artistic practice comprises video, installation, photography, performance, painting and sculpture. Of particular interest to her are the subtle mechanisms of influence that shape our everyday lives.
Jermolaewa has previously featured in two group shows at Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein. The collection includes two of the artist's works, both part of her contribution to the Austrian pavilion at the 2024 Venice Biennale. The artist is creating several new works for her major solo exhibition.
