People could not just throw in their spare coins but particularly their ideas and wishes for the future and commons in Liechtenstein. The underlying idea is to use the spare coins collected to put yet unrealised ideas and wishes into practice and to harness unused intellectual capital by means of equally unused economic capital. In addition to the collection points, the artist herself also travelled with her "ear to the people", having countless conversations and encounters around the country.
With the exhibition Who Pays? now over, Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein is dedicating its Seitenlichtsaal to a two-week retrospective of the Leftover-Coin-Action as a social process that took many different forms. The aim is to showcase the project in terms of various aspects, from collecting to a number of different formats of identifying criteria and selecting wishes. On show are not only objects from the action, including the two collection points, but also a documentation of the process, as far as possible, in the form of numerous photos, audio, newspaper and video excerpts.
To kick off the exhibition, the final public decision making and planning of the wish to be fulfilled took place on 27 May 2017.
